Middlesbrough fans react as Leeds eye Marcus Tavernier

A number of Middlesbrough fans have taken to Twitter to react to reports from TEAMtalk claiming that Leeds United are interested in signing Marcus Tavernier.

Tavernier has been a mainstay of the Boro side this term. And he will be setting his sights on keeping his place under new boss Chris Wilder.

It seems that he will have something else to fight for with the January transfer window looming.

TEAMtalk reports that Leeds have joined a host of their Premier League rivals in the running to sign the 22-year-old. Southampton, Brighton and Burnley are also admirers of the versatile midfielder.

Tavernier has just over 18 months left on his contract at the Riverside Stadium. So it would appear that a resolution on his future may come sooner rather than later.

Meanwhile, it has been suggested that Marcelo Bielsa would help him take his game to the next level.
