Pundit tips Liverpool and Real Madrid to miss out on £280,000-a-week player

Jan Aage Fjortoft has given his verdict on the future of Liverpool and Real Madrid target Leroy Sane.

The former Norway international forward has predicted the Bayern Munich winger’s decision.

So, what is being said about Liverpool target Leroy Sane? Let’s take a look.

What’s the story?

Well, Liverpool have been linked with Leroy Sane, who is on the radar of Manchester City and Real Madrid as well.

The £280,000-a-week (SalarySport) 27-year-old is under contract at Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich until the summer of 2025.

According to Bild journalist Christian Falk this week, Liverpool and Manchester City want to sign Sane.

The reporter claimed that Bayern plan to hold talks with the former City winger over a new deal after the international break.

Real Madrid and Barcelona are also keeping tabs on Sane.

Former Middlesbrough forward and Bundesliga expert Jan Åge Fjørtoft has predicted Sane to sign a new deal with Bayern.

Sane has scored eight goals and given six assists in 11 Bundesliga matches for Bayern this season.

During his time at City, the winger scored 25 goals and gave 28 assists in 90 Premier League appearances and won the title twice.

Liverpool could miss on Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sane

In my opinion, Liverpool are unlikely to be able to sign Leroy Sane from Bayern Munich in the summer of 2024 as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah.

I do not think that Bayern will sell Sane. I agree with Fjortoft. The Bundesliga champions will be able to strike a deal with the 27-year-old, who is faster than Liverpool winger Luis Diaz, and keep him at the club for the long term.

And even if Bayern cannot convince Sane, there is Real Madrid, arguably the biggest club in the world.

Madrid do not need a new winger/forward at the moment. Los Blancos should probably look to sign a world-class striker at the end of the season.

But, you just never know. Sane has already played in the Premier League with Manchester City and has been successful as well, so it would make even more sense for him to move to Madrid.
