‘Petulant’…Steve Bruce slams 26-year-old Manchester United player v Newcastle

Steve Bruce has been speaking about Manchester United and became the latest to question the attitude of Marcus Rashford.

Rashford cut a disgruntled figure once again against Newcastle yesterday and was eventually hooked by Erik ten Hag.

The England forward then looked visibly upset and annoyed on the bench and once again drew criticism for his performance and attitude in general.

And speaking on Stadium Astro, former United defender Steve Bruce has said Rashford needs to take a look in the mirror.

Steve Bruce slams Marcus Rashford after Newcastle performance

Speaking about Rashford, Bruce admitted that the player himself needs to look at his own performances.

“The first one you look at is why is Marcus Rashford looking, with how good he was and how well he played for England a few weeks ago, after ten minutes, is he not happy with playing on the right? Or what is wrong? We aren’t going to know about that and what’s happened behind the scenes if anything at all has happened. Obviously when he comes off he shows that he’s petulant and he’s not happy. But he has to look at himself to start with. It’s not just him though,” Bruce said.

A recurring theme at Manchester United

This isn’t a brand new things is it? Manchester United fans have seen this sort of performance from their players for some time now and it never seems to change.

Clearly, the players either aren’t having Ten Hag or there is a serious disconnect between the players and management once again. Either way, it’s transcending on the pitch in terms of performances.

For Rashford, it’s just sad to see really. On his day he can be a world class forward but right now, he’s showing nothing at all.

As it stands, he might even lose his place in the England squad and with someone like Anthony Gordon in such fine form, the Man United man needs to be careful.
