‘Be very careful’… National side warned that 23-year-old Celtic player could hurt them this week

The international break is officially in full swing and like the last one, TBR Celtic will look to keep you all up to date on how the Hoops players are doing.

There are many Celtic players on international duty over the next few weeks and with the games all kicking off tomorrow night, there will be plenty to talk about.

And it all that talk starts from today. Luis Palma is first up as he looks to take on Mexico at 2am on Saturday morning (BST) in the Nations League quarter-final.

And the Mexicans have been warned that the Celtic winger is a player who could ‘cause havoc‘ if he is not given proper attention by the El Tri defence.

What has been said about Celtic’s Luis Palma

Former Mexico international Raúl Gutiérrez has warned his old team that Palma is a player who the need to be ‘very careful’ with as he has the ability to cause them serious problems.

Gutiérrez said [Diez], “Well, I would give you the name of the striker, Luis Palma who is a player I have liked since he was at Vida and logically also Alberth Elis who suddenly gets hung up on the wing.

“But they are both very good players and can hurt you, you have to be very careful with them, it is one of the strong points of Honduras.”

Ironically, Alberth Elis was a player who was recommended to Celtic by former Hoops hero, Emilio Izaguirre.

Palma has been in ‘outstanding‘ form for Celtic this season. The 23-year-old’s performance against Aberdeen was simply flawless at the weekend.

A goal and three assists capped off a display that has made him one of Celtic’s most important players this season.

And after impressing on international duty in October, the Celtic fans will be keen to see how Palma will do against a Mexico side that is ranked 15th in the world by FIFA.
