Kenny Miller blown away by Celtic player after cup final moment

Kenny Miller has lauded the second goal of Kyogo Furuhashi in the Premier Sports Cup final, telling BBC Sport that the finish from the Celtic striker was incredible.

The Hoops have their first trophy under Ange Postecoglou. They came from behind to beat Hibernian 2-1 at Hampden Park, with Kyogo scoring both of the goals for the Bhoys.

Kyogo has been a revelation since arriving at Parkhead in the summer. He had already scored 14 goals in all competitions for the Hoops ahead of the final.

So it was little surprise that the Japan international was the man to drag Celtic across the line at Hampden.

He equalised by prodding the ball under Matt Macey in the Hibs goal within 60 seconds of Celtic going behind. And heading into the final 20 minutes, it was the forward who put Celtic in front.

He was picked out by Tom Rogic from a free-kick. And he went on to lob the goalkeeper with an outrageous first-time strike from the edge of the area. It prompted Chris Sutton to compare the summer signing with Henrik Larsson.

Meanwhile, Miller suggested that it was outstanding work from both Rogic and Kyogo.

“Wonderful play from Rogic,” he told BBC Sport. “He catches eyes with Kyogo, who lives on that last line. Great pass and an incredible finish.”

Celtic signing Kyogo is proving an absolute masterstroke amid Miller praise

Before Postecoglou came to Parkhead, it is likely that the large majority of British football fans had little idea who Kyogo was. So it may have seemed to be a little gamble to bring the striker in in the summer.

Certainly, Celtic have not always had the best luck when signing attacking players from lesser-known leagues.

But within a few months, Kyogo has made that deal look like an absolute masterstroke.

Celtic will hope that he is around for some time to come. But if they did want to sell, it is frightening to think what fee he could command.
