Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Manchester United have asked for information about signing Serhou Guirassy from Stuttgart.
The Red Devils haven’t been great this season, but they are still only six points off the top of the Premier League table. A prolific striker in January could really change their fortunes, and Romano has now confirmed that Guirassy is an option for them in the winter window.

Serhou Guirassy is having an extraordinary campaign in Germany, and it is no surprise that clubs like Manchester United are interested in him.
The 27-year-old has scored 16 goals and provided two assists for Stuttgart in just 11 appearances in all competitions this season. That is an outrageous return, but there’s more.
Guirassy now holds the record of being the fastest player in Bundesliga history to score 15 goals in the league in a season. He achieved that in just nine games, breaking Bayern Munich star Harry Kane‘s record. The Englishman took 10 games to accomplish that feat.
The Stuttgart star has been heavily linked with a move away in January, and clubs like Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move to sign him. Manchester United are also said to be keen, and Romano has shared the latest now.
He said in a video on his YouTube channel: “We had rumors about Manchester United, Newcastle, these are all clubs who asked for information about Guirassy and who are considering the situation of Guirassy.

“Then, for Man United, he’s not the only option. Man United are speaking to different agents to consider the opportunities on the striker’s market. We know about Timo Werner potentially could be available, we know about Guirassy.
“So, many conversations but to decide, they’re waiting to have their new director and people in charge to decide for the January transfer window. So, that will be the step when Man United will decide ‘okay we want this player’.
“At the moment it’s just about speaking, having conversations and discussing about opportunities like Guirassy, for sure, for that money, could be a very interesting opportunity with the release clause, but there are also other clubs in England, in Germany and also in Italy. So, keep an eye on the Guirassy situation.”
Manchester United target Guirassy is outperforming his xG
Serhou Guirassy is having the season of his life, but we are not overly convinced he is the right fit for Manchester United or any other big Premier League club.
The Stuttgart man’s 15 league goals in 10 appearances this season is an incredible return, but FBREF tells us he is massively outperforming his expected goals.
Guirassy’s xG this season is just 8.7 – nearly half of his actual goals, and that is not sustainable at all in the long run.
The only reason Manchester United may go for Guirassy in January is because he will be available for a very small fee thanks to his release clause of around £17 million (Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg).
