Celtic’s 6-0 win over Aberdeen is going to be talked about for the duration of this international break. It really was an accomplished performance by Brendan Rodgers’ side in the Scottish Premiership.
Whilst Luis Palma seems to be getting all the plaudits for his incredible stats in the win, one other player caught the eye of former Scotland striker, James McFadden.
The Sky Sports pundit was left in awe with Hyunjun Yang and said that his crossing in yesterday’s win was ‘excellent’ for Celtic.
McFadden said [Sky Sports], “I thought he was excellent.
“I think he started really well. Obviously, when you can get the goal you do get a lift.
“But it’s a brilliant little reverse pass to O’Riley. But I think it was key for Celtic today where Aberdeen sat behind the ball and they were getting forced wide.
“But it wasn’t hopeful crosses or forced passes from wide areas. It was measured.”
Hyunjun Yang is turning into an important player for Celtic
The South Korean has admitted that he has found it difficult to adjust to life at Celtic but it looks like he is really coming onto a game for Brendan Rodgers.
Last season’s Korean Young Player of the Year has stepped it up in the last two Scottish Premiership fixtures and his attacking play was pivotal in the wins over Ross County and St Mirren.
Yang looks full of confidence now and I am sure it won’t be too long before he gets a call from Jurgen Klinsmann to get his first international cap for his country. Yang has six caps for the South Korean u23 side.
When Liel Abada eventually returns from injury in December he will have a difficult time displacing Yang as long as the Korean can keep up his terrific run of form.
