Joe Hart and Chris Jullien deliver Instagram verdicts, as Celtic make decision

Celtic have confirmed that Anthony Ralston has penned new terms, keeping him until 2025 – prompting reaction from Joe Hart and Chris Jullien.

Coming into the 2021-22 season, you would have been forgiven for thinking that Ralston might be sold. He had played just 20 times before this season.

But already, Ralston has played more this season under Ange Postecoglou than he has ever done for Celtic. He has proven to be like a new signing.

Thrown into the side after a lack of signings to begin with, Ralston has made the right-back slot his own with some excellent displays on the right.

Clocking up 21 appearances in all competitions, he has been excellent – even having a hand in six goals. Scoring four, he has also laid on two assists.

Little surprise then, that Celtic have handed Ralston new terms – until the summer of 2025. They confirmed the decision on social media.

Ralston signs Celtic deal: Jullien and Hart react on Instagram

His form has been so good, that it was a surprise for fans to see Ralston miss out on a call-up to the Scotland squad for this month’s international games.

Instead, Motherwell’s Stephen O’Donnell and Rangers wonderkid Nathan Patterson are the options. But Ralston’s form means a chance is inevitable.

Certainly, his new contract is deserved. So far, he has easily been the surprise package of Postecoglou’s impressive reign as Celtic manager.

Hart, another crucial member of Postecoglou’s Celtic, stated Ralston “fully deserved” his new deal. Jullien posted a similar message.
