Jeremie Frimpong delivers two-word Instagram verdict on unlikely Celtic hero

At the beginning of the summer, it would have been difficult to find a Celtic fan that thought Anthony Ralston had a future at Parkhead. Fast forward until now, and Ralston is as important as anyone to Ange Postecoglou’s reign. Jeremie Frimpong has given his verdict on Celtic ace Ralston.

Coming into the 21-22 campaign, Celtic fans were clamouring for a right-back. Frimpong had moved to Bayer Leverkusen in January, Hatem Abd Elhamed has returned to Israel and Jonjoe Kenny did not do enough to earn a permanent move from Everton. A new signing has not been forthcoming.

Instead, 22-year-old Ralston has been given right-back duties. Prior to this season, he had played just 20 times for Celtic and been on loan to Dundee United, Queen of the South and St. Johnstone. But he has been excellent, posting on Instagram after an impeccable display against AZ Alkmaar.

Ralston rejuvenated: Frimpong delivers verdict on Celtic star

On Wednesday night, Ralston was one of Celtic’s best. Having played every minute of Postecoglou’s reign so far, Ralston started at right-back – amid reports Celtic are close to signing Josip Juranovic. Two brilliant moments earned massive cheers from the Parkhead support during the 2-0 win.

Firstly, a dangerous low cross went into the Celtic box but across came Ralston, out of nowhere, to clear the ball at the feet of an AZ player. Then, in injury time, Celtic needed to run the clock down. Facing two AZ players, he took them on and won a corner. Frimpong gave his verdict on Instagram.
