‘He lets you down’… Jamie O’Hara tells Arsenal to replace £45m player if they want to win the Premier League

TalkSPORT pundit Jamie O’Hara believes Arsenal need to sign a new striker to replace Gabriel Jesus.

The Gunners came ever so close to winning the Premier League title last season, and Jesus played a key part. However, they fell short in the end, and O’Hara believes the same thing will happen this term if they don’t bring in a new striker in January.

Jamie O’Hara tells Arsenal to replace Gabriel Jesus

Arsenal signed Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City last year for £45 million (BBC).

The Brazilian started the season in spectacular fashion. He played a massive part in helping the Gunners challenge for the Premier League title, but an injury at the World Cup in Qatar forced him to miss a few months of action.

Jesus has had multiple injury issues this season as well. He missed the start of the campaign due to an ankle problem and was then out for a month due to a hamstring issue.

Jamie O’Hara has now claimed that Jesus lets Arsenal down because of his injuries, which is why he needs to be replaced if the Gunners want to win the Premier League title.

He said on talkSPORT: “Can Arsenal win the Champions League? Why not. They are a good side. We all know they will probably crumble at the end of it, the latter stages, that’s what they do but I think they are a really good team to watch.

“The performance they put in against Lens, they are just wiping teams away really. Arsenal I don’t think are far off it, I just think they need a striker.

“Jesus is brilliant and a fantastic player but I just think he lets you down with injuries. Havertz has picked up and is doing pieces. But if they had Ivan Toney or something they would be a lot closer to winning the league.”

Ivan Toney could fire Arsenal to the Premier League title

Ivan Toney was one of the best strikers in the Premier League last season, and Arsenal have been heavily linked with a move to sign him.

The Brentford star will be eligible to play again in the middle of January. The Bees would love nothing more than to keep hold of him, but there is a chance he will leave.

Arsenal clearly like Toney, and he would bring a whole new dimension to their attack. He has qualities that nobody else does at the Emirates, and he could make a huge difference in their title charge.

However, Brentford will likely demand a fortune for Toney, and it’s unclear if the Gunners will be able to afford him in the winter window.
