Leeds boss Jesse Marsch is a massive fan of Brazil star Pedro – journalist

Football journalist Ben Jacobs has claimed that Leeds United boss Jesse Marsch is a huge fan of Brazil and Flamengo forward Pedro.

The Whites have shown some real promise this season, but they are still in a position of some concern. They are just two points above the drop zone, and if they aren’t careful, they could find themselves in trouble.

A new forward in January would really help them, and Pedro could be the man.

Pedro has long been linked with a move to Leeds United.

The 25-year-old, who scored 29 goals and provided 10 assists for Flamengo in the 2021/22 campaign, was very well-liked by Marcelo Bielsa when he was at Elland Road, but no move materialised then.

However, a move in the January transfer window seems possible as Leeds boss Marsch is apparently a huge fan of the Brazilian, who could play a part against Cameroon at the World Cup tomorrow.

“Jesse Marsch is a big fan,” Jones told GiveMeSport.

“And we know that Leeds need a few more goals and assists because of their reliance on Patrick Bamford, so that’s one to watch. But, of course, Leeds are in a difficult position because the more he features at the World Cup or the better he does, the more he may potentially put himself in the shop window to other suitors as well.

“But Leeds have done a fair amount of due diligence and scouting on the player, even predating Jesse Marsch, so he’s one to watch as far as Leeds and the World Cup are concerned.”

Leeds have not been bad this season by any means, but they just haven’t been able to make the results reflect some of their performances.

Marsch, however, has picked up a few impressive results against Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal this season. He just needs his side to find some consistency, especially in front of goal, and adding a prolific goalscorer could do the trick.

Pedro would be a very interesting option. Yes, the 25-year-old has only done it in the Brazilian league, but he definitely does have the potential to shine on a bigger stage.

It will be interesting to see if Leeds will finally make a move to sign Pedro in January.
