Football journalist Ben Jacobs has claimed that Leeds United are still monitoring Brazil and Flamengo star Pedro Santos.
Jesse Marsch’s side started this season in magnificent fashion. They won three of their first four games, but then went on a barren run of eight fixtures without a win. They seemed to turn things around with a draw against Arsenal and a win over Liverpool, but they suffered another defeat in the league just before the World Cup break – against Tottenham.
Leeds need some help in January, and Pedro could well be the man.

Pedro is no stranger to links to the Premier League and Leeds United.
The talented attacker, who is a part of Brazil’s current World Cup squad, was reportedly admired by Marcelo Bielsa when he was at the helm. He wanted to sign Pedro for Leeds, but the forward wasn’t prepared to leave then.
Jacobs has now claimed that Leeds are still keeping an eye on Pedro, and they could well try and sign him in the January transfer window.
The journalist told GiveMeSport about Pedro: “He’s a player that Leeds have been monitoring, even before Jesse Marsch came in, Bielsa really liked him too. At the point when Bielsa was tracking him, Pedro didn’t want to leave and thought that it was not the right move to go to a Premier League club.
“He wanted consistency where he was at. Now he’s found that form and he’s broken through into the international setup, as well.
“He’s scoring goals with regularity and it’d be interesting to see whether Leeds try and get ahead of the game here and if off the back of a World Cup, where he may or may not feature significantly, they choose to escalate that deal.”

Pedro is a fantastic talent, there’s no doubt about that.
The 25-year-old, branded as a ‘classy player’ and an ‘excellent finisher’ by BBC Sport commentator Guy Mowbray, got himself a spot in the Brazil squad ahead of Liverpool star Roberto Firmino, who is so much more accomplished than the reported Leeds United target.
That’s because Pedro managed to score 29 goals and provide 10 assists for Flamengo in the 2021/22 season. That is an incredible return, and it’s no surprise at all that Leeds like him.
Pedro is unlikely to get a lot of game time at the World Cup, but if he does and manages to impress, he could convince Leeds and plenty of other clubs to make a move for him as early as in January.
