Chelsea supporters react as Newcastle linked with signing Pedro on a free transfer

Newcastle United are reportedly interested in signing Chelsea star Pedro this summer as the Spaniard’s contract has just two months left to go – and supporters of the west London club have reacted on Twitter.

Pedro, 32, is set to leave Chelsea in the coming months – five years after leaving Barcelona to join Chelsea for a fee worth £21million (BBC). A 2010 World Cup winner, Pedro has had a hand in 71 goals during his 201 league and cup outings.

However, his time at Chelsea is coming to an end as he begins to enter the twilight stages of his career. The Chronicle claim Newcastle’s prospective new owners have been offered the chance to sign 5ft 7in Pedro.

Newcastle are likely to make a number of big-name signings this summer, with the likes of Antoine Griezmann, Arturo Vidal, Philippe Coutinho, Edinson Cavani and Kalidou Koulibaly all being linked with a move to Newcastle.

A takeover is close to being announced, with reports stating that the £300million deal is at an advanced stage in terms of Premier League checks. Pedro could be one of the first new signings at Newcastle.

Indeed, Chelsea supporters are of the opinion that Pedro is to leave west London and upon hearing the reported news that Pedro could move north to St. James’ Park, many have wished their Spanish star all the best – and are of the belief he will leave.
