127 touches, 5 key passes, 2 tackles: ‘Phenomenal’ player is a Liverpool legend in the making

Liverpool made it to the quarter-finals of the Champions League on Tuesday night, but had to work hard for it.

The Reds fell to a 1-0 defeat to Inter in their last-16 second-leg at Anfield.

However, their great work in Milan last month endured that they progressed 2-1 on aggregate.

That’s not to say Liverpool didn’t work hard on Merseyside – far from it.

Indeed, Jurgen Klopp’s charges had numerous opportunities to win the game.

Liverpool registered 12 efforts and struck the woodwork three times against Inter.

Admittedly, some Reds players had a better game than others.

And Trent Alexander-Arnold was once again amongst the best Liverpool performers on the night.

The Anfield academy graduate continues to shine for his boyhood club.

And on the biggest stages – such as Champions League knockout games – he steps his game up even more.

Alexander-Arnold was superb against the dangerous Ivan Perisic and made several key defensive contributions.

At the other end of the pitch, the 23-year-old caused havoc and, on another day, could’ve had several assists.

As per LFC Stats, Alexander-Arnold clocked up some impressive statistics.

Alexander-Arnold was one of several players who helped get Liverpool over the line on Tuesday night.

Ahead of the game, Rio Ferdinand described him on BT Sport as “phenomenal” and even compared him to Kevin De Bruyne.

Alexander-Arnold is already a superstar at Liverpool – the way he’s playing, he’ll soon be an Anfield legend.
