Three Manchester United players are still firmly behind Erik ten Hag and want him to stay

The latest reports suggest that there are three Manchester United players who are firmly behind manager Erik ten Hag.

Manchester United have not had a good season at all, and the last seven days has been awful for them as they lost 3-0 to rivals Manchester City and then 3-0 to Newcastle in the Carabao Cup, with both games at Old Trafford.

This, combined with them being eighth in the Premier League, has now seen some question whether Erik ten Haag should still be manager.

Now, reports from The Athletic have shared that despite some player unrest, some members of the squad, including Andre Onana, Anthony and Lisandro Martinez, owe their Manchester United careers to Ten Hag and they are all backing the manager. They also remain very hopeful that the slide in form can be stopped.

Three Manchester United players backing Erik ten Haag

It feels like every Manchester United manager post Sir Alex Ferguson has struggled to win the whole dressing room at the club.

Erik ten Haag will be very happy to have some of the players in the squad still behind him, and he proved last season that he can get this squad playing well.

Winning a cup in his first season was huge, and arguably it was massively underrated by many in the footballing world.

It is no shock to see the players backing him. The new players seem to be committed to the club. January will be huge, with players like Antonio Silva wanted by the Red Devils, whilst others will likely leave the club.

Up next for Manchester United are some easier fixtures in the Premier League on paper. They face Fulham and Luton in their next two. It is massively important that ten Haag gets six points from these matches otherwise there will be even more pressure on him.

Fans will be hoping that they turn things around sooner rather than later, but with them knocked out of the Carabao Cup, they need to perform well in the Champions League, FA Cup and Premier League.
