Virgil van Dijk suggests 20-year-old Liverpool player was on fire vs Bournemouth last night

Liverpool defender Jarell Quansah was named the Player of the Match for his performance against Bournemouth last night, and even Virgil van Dijk seems impressed.

The Reds were made to work hard at the Vitality Stadium, not just by the Cherries but also by the terrible weather. Cody Gakpo‘s opener and a ‘breathtaking’ goal from Darwin Nunez sealed the game in the end, but young Quansah was the one who impressed us the most.

Liverpool star Virgil van Dijk impressed by Jarell Quansah

Jarell Quansah seems to be getting better and better every time he plays for Liverpool.

The 20-year-old only made his Reds debut this season, but he already looks so assured. He has played just seven times for Jurgen Klopp so far, the last of which came last night.

Quansah started alongside Joel Matip in the heart of Liverpool’s defence against Bournemouth, and he had a really good game.

It’s never easy for an inexperienced 20-year-old to deal with weather conditions as bad as last night, but Quansah managed really well and impressed everyone.

He really does have a bright future ahead of him, and his captain, Virgil van Dijk, seems to have given Quansah his nod of approval.

After the youngster posted a few pictures on Instagram to celebrate the win last night, Van Dijk replied with a few fire emojis.

He was perhaps saying Quansah was on fire last night.

A look at Quansah’s stats vs Bournemouth

Jarell Quansah was voted Liverpool’s Player of the Match last night, and he deserves it.

The 20-year-old, in his 90 minutes on the pitch, had 114 touches of the ball and completed 86 of his 97 attempted passes. That is a good return considering how windy it was in Bournemouth yesterday.

Quansah also made seven clearances, a tackle and two interceptions, and was dribbled past just once in the entire game. (SofaScore)

Liverpool have a gem in 20-year-old Quansah, and he will only get better in the coming years.
