Arsenal will consider bidding for ‘extraordinary’ £53m midfielder during summer transfer window

Arsenal are continuing to make transfer plans and have their eyes firmly set on Spanish midfielder Martin Zubimendi once again.

The Gunners have been linked with Zubimendi for some time now and came close to landing him in the summer this year. In the end, the young midfielder stayed in Spain and he is once again excelling.

Of course, Zubimendi’s form means interest remains.

And according to Sport, Arsenal are still very much in the conversation when it comes to signing Zubimendi.

Arsenal want to sign Martin Zubimendi

According to the report from Sport, Arsenal and Barcelona are very much keen on the idea of signing Zubimendi.

The midfielder is known to have a release clause around the £53m mark and it’s thought that won’t put both clubs off moving for him.

The Spaniard signed a new contract with Sociedad but he insisted the clause remained the same.

Arsenal, as we know, are continually looking for new players and with Thomas Partey’s future in doubt again, a new midfielder is on the agenda.

The Gunners spent £100m on Declan Rice in the summer but are keen to find a long-term partner for the England man to complete their midfield rebuild.

Zubimendi an ‘extraordinary’ midfielder

Well, that’s what Barcelona manager Xavi termed him as and it’s safe to say he is a good judge of how good a midfielder is.

Zubimendi is clearly another massive talent coming off the Spanish conveyor belt and there’s little wonder teams like Arsenal want him.

Quite who will end up landing him remains to be seen. The lure of Barcelona for Spanish players will always be there but Arsenal will also appeal.

The idea of Zubimendi alongside Rice is one for Arsenal fans to be excited about and if they do pay up in the summer, it will be yet another fine young signing.
