Darren Bent admits £24m Arsenal player would have no chance of starting for Tottenham

Darren Bent has given his verdict on whether or not Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale would get into the Tottenham Hotspur starting lineup ahead of Guglielmo Vicario.

The former Tottenham striker and Arsenal fan rates Vicario highly.

So, what has Darren Bent said about Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale and Tottenham Hotspur? Let’s take a look.

What’s the story?

Well, former Tottenham Hotspur striker Darren Bent has been discussing the situation of Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.

Ramsdale started the season as the first-choice goalkeeper for Arsenal, but David Raya is now the number one between the posts.

There is speculation that Arsenal are going to make Raya’s loan deal from Brentford permanent.

Bent, who is an Arsenal fan, feels sorry for Ramsdale and believes that he would get into the starting lineups at Chelsea and Newcastle United.

The talkSPORT pundit, though, does not think that the £24 million (The Athletic) goalkeeper would get into the Tottenham starting lineup.

The former Spurs striker rates Guglielmo Vicario highly. The Italian goalkeeper joined Tottenham in the summer transfer window and has been one of the best players for the North London club this season.

Bent said on talkSPORT: “You look at Aaron Ramsdale and you look at the Premier League table. There are a lot of clubs, by the way, he could go to and play. It’s a shame.

“I think he would play there (Chelsea). I think he would play there (Newcastle United) ahead of Pope.”

When asked about Tottenham, Ramsdale said: “Nah because their goalkeeper is different class. Vicario, he is unbelievable.”

Aaron Ramsdale needs to stay patient at Arsenal

In my opinion, Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale needs to stay patient and should not rush into making a decision on his future.

While it would be tempting for the goalkeeper to simply give up at Arsenal and move somewhere else, he has to believe in himself and in his quality.

I think that the England international goalkeeper should stay at Arsenal for the rest of the season and fight for his place.

If it still does not work out, only then should Ramsdale consider a move away from the North London club.
