Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou has praised Guglielmo Vicario for his performance against Chelsea last night.
Spurs suffered their first defeat of the season in the Premier League yesterday. Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie‘s red cards really cost them, and despite Vicario’s best efforts, Chelsea managed to smash four past him in the end.

Tottenham showed a lot of heart despite going down to nine men last night, but their best player by a mile was Guglielmo Vicario.
It’s not often that a goalkeeper deserves praise after letting four goals in, but without Vicario last night, Spurs would’ve conceded a few more.
The Italian played the sweeper-keeper role perfectly. Tottenham’s dangerous high line gave Chelsea a ton of opportunities to get in behind, but Vicario dealt with so many such chances with considerable ease.
Ange Postecoglou admitted after the game that Vicario was ‘outstanding’ once again.
He told Stadium Astro: “Yeah, we left some gaps at the back but I thought Vic was outstanding again today.
“Some of football is showing some character, will and desire and it’s not the first time this year these lads have shown it.”

Tottenham deserve immense credit for some of their signings in the summer.
James Maddison is obviously the big one and he has been sensational. Micky van de Ven, who suffered an injury last night, has also been a revelation at Tottenham and is one of the best defenders in the Premier League now.
The most underrated signing at Spurs, however, is Vicario, but the Italian has been up there with the best goalkeepers in the country.
If Tottenham are to achieve something special this season, Vicario will be key for Postecoglou.
