‘A terrific talent’: Alasdair Gold says 18-year-old Tottenham player could be fast tracked at Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur have some fantastic young talents on their books at the moment.

The likes of Jamie Donley, Mikey Moore and Ashley Phillips all look like potential stars of the future, and, according to Alasdair Gold, there’s another young defender who could soon be making an impact at first-team level.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Gold has tipped Alfie Dorrington to eventually become a star at Tottenham, claiming that the 18-year-old could be fast tracked at Spurs next season with either a loan or even an increased involvement at first-team level.

Dorrington could be fast tracked

Gold shared what he knows about the teenager.

“Alfie Dorrington for me. Dorrington has impressed me every time I’ve watched him. I’ll be honest, in the U21 games I’ve watched where he’s been alongside Ashley Phillips, he’s impressed me more than Phillips,” Gold said.

“Dorrington is a hell of a centre-back, and you’ll see him either fast tracked with a bit of a loan or you’ll see him involved more from next season with the first team because he’s a terrific talent.”

Exciting

This is very exciting to say the least.

By the sounds of it, Dorrington is a talent who could make an impact at Tottenham in the years to come, and he’s not the only young centre-back who could be a star at Spurs.

Of course, Micky Van de Ven is already doing the business, but let’s not forget, Ashley Phillips has been tipped for big things and Luka Vuskovic is set to arrive in north London before too long as well.

Tottenham’s stable of young centre-backs is one of the most exciting things at Spurs right now, and that’s saying something when you’re talking about a team that are flying high at the top of the Premier League.
