Agbonlahor shares what he thinks Matty Cash will have done amid Rodrigo Bentancur reports

Gabby Agbonlahor has reacted on social media following reports that Rodrigo Bentancur is now set to be out until mid-February after Tottenham Hotspur’s loss to Aston Villa on Sunday.

Agbonlahor has taken to X to suggest that Matty Cash has probably reached out to the Uruguayan after his challenge led to him coming off during the first-half.

Rodrigo Bentancur has, unfortunately, now been added to Tottenham’s lengthy injury list. The 26-year-old has only recently returned from a long spell on the sidelines.

He was excellent in the early stages of Sunday’s clash. However, he had to come off before the break after a nasty-looking tackle from Matty Cash.

Cash was booked. But Tottenham fans must have been incredibly fearful given Bentancur’s history. It is also alarming whenever a player is able to walk off but unable to carry on after being on the receiving end of a heavy challenge.

Unfortunately, the news is not good. Bentancur is set to be sidelined until February at the earliest. That comes with the likes of Micky van de Ven and James Maddison already out.

A look on social media will tell you that a lot of Tottenham fans are not happy with Cash to say the least. And Agbonlahor has defended the Aston Villa star on social media this evening…

Cruel blow for Spurs star

There is so much disappointment amongst Spurs fans. They already must have felt like they were owed some fortune. And if any player deserved some luck, it was surely Bentancur.

It is a devastating blow at a terrible time for Tottenham. And you would like to think that Cash will indeed make an attempt to reach out to Bentancur to apologise.
