TalkSPORT pundit Tony Cascarino has been talking all things Arsenal today and had a big claim about their Champions League hopes.
Cascarino was speaking about the Gunners after being played a clip from Noel Gallagher, in which the Oasis star said Arsenal would never win the Champions League.
The Gunners are doing ok on their return to the competition this season and will into the knockout rounds no problem.
And speaking on TalkSPORT today, Cascarino said you can’t rule the Gunners out, regardless of other teams being better.
Pundit says Arsenal can win the Champions League
Commenting on the situation, Cascarino said the following.
“You can’t rule them out. They’re in a good position. You can say you don’t fancy them but rule them out totally, I’d never go down that road. Do I think there are other teams better prepared and in a better position? Yes there are,” Cascarino said.
“Manchester City, I would also say Bayern with Real Madrid. But Arsenal could make the semi-finals, they’re a hell of a good side. How they adapt to Europe is another dilemma for Arteta to solve. They’re a good side. I always say be careful with cup comps. You never know. They’ll get through the group and then they’re four or five games away from being champions.”
Arsenal will know they need a bit of luck with injuries and perhaps a new signing or two in January to make the push in Europe.
They lost new signing Jurrien Timber early on in the campaign and Gabriel Jesus has also struggled to stay completely fit.
Mikel Arteta will be hoping for a bit more luck on that front as he looks to guide the Gunners towards a European trophy.
