Dominik Szoboszlai has shared what Erling Haaland messaged him when he found out that the Hungarian was joining Liverpool in the summer transfer window.
Szoboszlai was speaking to BBC Sport after moving to the same league as the Manchester City striker, who he played alongside while at Red Bull Salzburg.

The Athletic reported that a number of clubs wanted Szoboszlai in the summer, but had reservations about meeting his asking price.
But Liverpool have been vindicated for the gamble they have taken. In fact, Szoboszlai has potentially been better than Jurgen Klopp could have imagined.
One player who may not be surprised to see the 23-year-old thrive is Erling Haaland. The pair were exceptional together in Austria. And it turns out that the Manchester City star was one of the first players Szoboszlai reached out to when he was closing in on joining Liverpool.
“When I came to sign, it was not official yet, I sent him a picture with a Liverpool shirt. He was like: ‘oh, what’s happening?’ And I said, ‘yeah, we’re going to see each other’. And he said: ‘congratulations, and the Premier League is crazy’,” he told BBC Sport.

Szoboszlai and Haaland could potentially be stars of the Premier League for the next decade. Of course, Haaland’s accomplishments are widely-known. And it is scary to think that he could improve further.
But Szoboszlai has settled in so brilliantly at Anfield. He has to be considered one of the first names on the Liverpool team sheet already. And he only recently turned 23.
Liverpool have a potential superstar on their hands if he continues to develop. And if they can make the right couple of signings in the next few windows, the Reds are going to be a real force once again.
