Report: Celtic close to agreeing fee for David Turnbull

Celtic could be nearing making another signing, with Sky Sports reporting that they are close to agreeing a fee with Motherwell for David Turnbull.

A Parkhead switch has been 14 months in the making. As reported by Sky Sports, he was close to joining the Hoops last summer before his medical highlighted a knee issue.

The Scottish Sun suggested that the move would have cost the Scottish Premiership champions £3.25 million.

He subsequently missed several months of action for Well. But having made five appearances at the start of the new campaign, it appears that a move to Celtic is back on the cards.

Sky Sports has suggested that the two clubs are getting closer to reaching an agreement over a fee. It is noted that agreeing personal terms is unlikely to prove a problem for the Bhoys.

TBR View: Turnbull could provide Celtic with important boost

Celtic have won three of their first four games in all competitions this season. Nevertheless, there have been a couple of lacklustre performances that may be causing concern.

They rarely looked like winning during their draw with Kilmarnock earlier this month. And they were relying on a late goal from Albian Ajeti to beat Dundee United at the weekend.

There has been some criticism of some of their midfielders. So adding Turnbull to the ranks could prove to be a very good piece of business as Celtic look to step up their game.
