Daniel Farke backs £5m Leeds player to explode

Leeds United manager Daniel Farke has praised Whites midfielder Glen Kamara, saying he’s a “top teammate” and “great guy to have around”.

The Whites boss was speaking to the press – as per Yorkshire Evening Post – ahead of Leeds heading to Leicester on Friday.

Kamara joined Leeds in the latter stages of the summer transfer window. The Elland Road side reportedly paid around £5million for his services.

The 28-year-old has so far made seven appearances for Leeds, of which five have been Championship starts. He has also registered one assist.

Kamara was especially impressive in Leeds’ last match, the 4-1 win over Huddersfield last weekend.

As per Leeds Live, he ‘brought dynamism to the midfield and asked questions of Huddersfield with his raids from deep.

Rating him a 7 out of 10, they also wrote: ‘Some good tackles in there too. Looks like the strongest midfield pair alongside Ampadu now.’

Farke spoke at length about Kamara’s influence on and off the pitch, saying: “Each and every week, each training session on the pitch with us is helpful and he’s on a good path.

“So I think there’s still more to come and he needs a bit time to be there with 100 percent. But I agree, I think it was probably his most complex performance.

“And he’s definitely a player who gives us lots of quality on the ball in his decision-making which pass to make, can dictate also the rhythm of the game.

“I think he still needs to sharpen a bit up in the physical way because due to his lack of game-time in the last months.

“But the more he plays and more he’s involved I think the better his physical endurance and stability will be and he’s definitely on a good path.

“And further on, he is a top teammate, top lad, pretty much involved in each every joke that the lads have in the dressing room. So he’s a great, great guy to have around that we’re all happy together.”

Kamara a solid player for Leeds

It’s great to see Kamara finding his feet at Leeds and putting in impressive displays. He’s a solid player who puts in a shift, looks silky on the ball and is overall a great acquisition at Elland Road.

Leeds are third in the table and, though the top two have established sizeable leads, it’s a long season and a player with the quality and experience of Kamara will help Farke’s side go a long way.
