‘Oh my gosh’… Ian Wright has now urged Arsenal to sign 19-year-old Premier League player

Evan Ferguson has emerged as one of the Premier League’s most exciting prospects, and Ian Wright is now keen on Arsenal signing the striker.

The Republic of Ireland international was back amongst the goals this weekend in Brighton & Hove Albion’s 3-2 win against Nottingham Forest, with Ferguson now sitting on six goals in the Premier League.

With Arsenal already scouting Ferguson according to reports, it’s no wonder why Wright is so eager for the Gunners to do all they can to bring the attacker to north London.

A long-term striker is clearly on Arsenal’s agenda with Gabriel Jesus out injured most of the time and Eddie Nketiah yet to hit the form that has convinced fans he can be a leading man.

Yet for Wright, Ferguson is the man Arsenal should be chasing, with the teenager having all the tools needed to flourish with the Premier League giants.

Wright said when asked about Ferguson via Wrighty’s House: “Oh my gosh, there’s no way I’m not going to say I’d take him in a heartbeat [at Arsenal]. We will see how it goes.”

The striker position looks set to be the next role in Arsenal’s squad where Mikel Arteta and Edu Gaspar will spend big in next year’s summer transfer window.

And in the limited options Arsenal actually have to choose from, Ferguson could be an outstanding pick given his age and Premier League experience.

At 19, the Irish wonderkid is very much at the start of his footballing career, with Ferguson yet to hit his true potential at Brighton.

Yet Arsenal could unlock that for the striker, with Ferguson showing for the Seagulls that he is good enough to star for a top side like the Gunners in the years to come.
