Tottenham are desperate to keep hold of ‘world class’ player now, they have option in his contract

Tottenham are reportedly desperate to keep hold of Heung-min Son heading into the January transfer window.

According to the Telegraph, the north London side are relaxed over the South Korean international’s future, with Tottenham having the option to extend Son’s contract until 2026.

Lauded by Moussa Sissoko as a ‘world-class’ player, Son was named captain of Tottenham this summer, with the attacker proving to be quite the skipper for Ange Postecoglou’s side.

The 31-year-old attacker has thrived since the departure of Harry Kane, with James Maddison proving to be an incredible creative teammate for Son in this new era of the club.

Indeed, Son actually leaving Tottenham in 2024 has always felt like a lofty claim, and this update seemingly confirms that the former Hamburg star won’t be departing England in January.

Moreover, with Tottenham ready to spend, it appears that Daniel Levy is now keen to give Son more toys in the Spurs attack, which could lead to something quite spectacular in the new year.

Taking on the role as the new leading man in the attack, Son has been quite amazing this season, with the forward bagging eight goals in the Premier League this campaign.

And in January, Postecoglou has to ensure that the Asian superstar has one or two new attacking teammates that Son can work off to increase his already fantastic productivity.

There’s a real chance Tottenham can actually do something quite special this season, and Son will be at the heart of everything if Spurs are to reach this promised land.
