Does Mateusz Klich success suggest Yosuke Ideguchi deserves a Leeds United chance?

Leeds United midfielder Yosuke Ideguchi looks set to leave the club this summer. As reported by the Yorkshire Evening Post, the Japanese international has returned from his recent knee injury, but Leeds have no plans to use him the future.

Leeds signed him 18 months ago from Gamba Osaka for a fee reported by the BBC to be worth around £500,000.

The central midfielder was immediately sent on loan to Cultural Leonesa in Spain. He could not establish himself at the Segunda Liga side. They were eventually relegated to Spain’s third tier.

A loan move to current club Greuther Furth started well, before his knee trouble.

Now it seems the 12-cap international does not feature in Marcelo Bielsa’s plans. However, could one of the stars of Leeds’ season show why he deserves a second chance?

The player in question is Mateusz Klich. Like Ideguchi, he was an international midfielder whose Elland Road career looked over after a loan spell away. But Bielsa gave him a chance and the Polish international has gone on to become a key player for Leeds, scoring 10 goals and assisting eight.

Ideguchi has simply never had a chance at Elland Road. This summer, it would surely not hurt to see what he has to offer.
