Leeds United round-up: O’Kane’s horror injury, Ideguchi scores and Bielsa laments actions

O’Kane surgery

Eunan O’Kane is expected to be out of action for a lengthy period after suffering a broken leg. The former Leeds captain was told this summer he had no future at Leeds and therefore headed out on loan to Luton Town.

He was in League One action yesterday against Bristol Rovers, in a game Luton won 1-0.

But he suffered a horrific double leg-break during the clash, undergoing surgery on his tibia and fibula this afternoon.

Leeds director of football Victor Orta has stated the club will give him ‘the best support’ for him to recover.

Ideguchi scores

From one banished Leeds United midfielder to another and Yosuke Ideguchi has had a weekend to remember.

He scored his first goal for Greuther Furth this weekend.

He scored after an hour of the German side’s 4-1 win against Holstein Kiel.

His loan spell has certainly started better than the one he had last term. Ideguchi barely got a game with Cultural Leonesa as they suffered relegation to the Spanish third tier.

Bielsa sorry

Marcelo Bielsa has taken the blame for a touchline ruckus with Millwall boss Neil Harris at the weekend.

It came after Gjanni Alioski attempted to retrieve the ball for a throw-in by the Millwall technical area.

But Bielsa apologised for the incident and said he ‘lamented’ his actions.
