‘I’ve always liked him’: Roy Keane seriously impressed with ‘excellent’ £19m West Ham player

West Ham drew 1-1 with Crystal Palace today in what has been an action packed day of Premier League action so far.

The Hammers thought they were on their way to a win when Mohammed Kudus fired them in front early on.

However, a goal from Odsonne Edouard in the second half ensured Palace left with a share of the spoils.

For West Ham, it’s been a decent season so far and they currently sit in ninth position in the table.

Roy Keane praises Tomas Soucek

Part of the reason for their good form has been the resurgence of midfielder Tomas Soucek, who has been getting among the goals again.

And speaking about Soucek on Sky before the game today, former Manchester United man Roy Keane admitted he’s a big fan of the £19m man.

“If you’ve got a midfielder scoring goals – excellent. I’ve always liked him [Tomas Soucek], a good solid professional. The fact he can get you goals is a huge bonus,” Keane said.

The Czech midfielder has been one of the best signings in recent times for West Ham and remains a key player for David Moyes.

One of the best around

As Keane says, a midfielder who can get goals is massive for any team and Tomas Soucek has proven to be quite the signing for the Hammers.

Praise off a former player held in such high esteem like Keane is always going to go down well and it’s a mark of how well Soucek is playing.

Today might not have been ideal in terms of a draw but there is a lot to be positive about for West Ham.

Soucek is one of those positives and he’ll continue to be a big player this season.
