‘Have to learn’…Mikel Arteta says £30m Arsenal player got a big lesson against Wolves today

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta was delighted with his team’s win over Wolves today and had more kinds words for Oleksandr Zinchenko.

The Ukrainian laid the second Arsenal goal on a plate for Martin Odegaard but also struggled a bit defensively as he had a hand in Wolves getting one back.

However, in the main, Zinchenko remains a key player for the Gunners under Arteta.

And speaking about the former Manchester City man after the game, Arteta was full of praise for Zinchenko once again.

Mikel Arteta says you have to love Oleksandr Zinchenko

Speaking in his presser after the game, Arteta admitted that like every player, Zinchenko has strengths and weaknesses.

“You have to love him, how he is. Every player has strengths and weaknesses. Alex has many more strengths. This happened and it can happen to any player. We have to learn from it because there are certain areas where it’s a big no to play, especially after certain things in the previous phase. That’s it. We will get better,” Arteta said.

Zinchenko remains vital for the Gunners

Arsenal paid around £30m up front for Zinchenko and you have to say it’s been a revelation of a signing.

The Ukrainian is so versatile in how he plays but and he allows Mikel Arteta to play in the exact way he wants.

Zinchenko might not be the best defender in the world but he is so crucial for what Arsenal do. His forward runs and ability on the ball in the final third make him invaluable.

If Zinchenko remains fit all season then there’s a real chance that Arsenal do go all the way this time around.

Certainly, in terms of key players, Zinchenko is right up there with one of Arteta’s most valuable.
