123 touches, 107 passes, 97.2% pass accuracy – one Celtic player was dominant v Ferencvaros

Celtic captain Callum McGregor was once again impressive for the Hoops as they got their first Europa League group-stage win of the campaign.

Ange Postecoglou’s charges suffered defeats in their opening two Group G games, so the pressure was well and truly on against Ferencvaros.

The Hungarian giants, like Celtic, had lost their opening two games in the group, which also features Bayer Leverkusen and Real Betis.

Once again, the incredible Kyogo Furuhashi once again delivered for his new club.

He gave Celtic a 57th-minute lead with his ninth goal for the Hoops, slotting home after connecting with a superb Jota pass.

And nine minutes from time, David Turnbull bundled the ball home to make it 2-0 to the hosts at Parkhead.

Admittedly, McGregor did miss a penalty that could’ve put the game out of Ferencvaros’ reach earlier on.

However, the 28-year-old was instrumental in setting up Turnbull to make the game safe.

McGregor was dominant in midfield, both offensively and defensively, clocking up some impressive statistics.

As per Whoscored, he took 123 touches of the ball and made 107 passes with an accuracy of 97.2 percent.

McGregor also had three efforts – all on target – and made two key passes, on top of one tackle, two interceptions and five clearances.

While it was a shame he missed his penalty, McGregor more than redeemed himself and has helped Celtic pick up a great win in a key European game.
