‘Class act’: Joe Hart has already been impressed by one Celtic teammate

Joe Hart has shared that new teammate Callum McGregor has already impressed him following his move to Celtic on Tuesday.

The Hoops completed the signing of English goalkeeper Hart yesterday from Premier League club Tottenham. He’s penned a three-year contract at Parkhead.

Hart, who made 10 appearances for Spurs last season, has made the move to Glasgow in search of more regular football.

The 34-year-old joins Ange Postecoglou’s squad with a wealth of experience, which includes winning two Premier League titles in the earlier stages of his career with Manchester City.

He’s less than 24 hours into life as a Celtic player, but says that Bhoys club captain McGregor is already impressing him.

“Callum’s been great. It doesn’t matter how many times you’ve been in this situation. It’s always quite daunting meeting your teammates,” Hart said.

“He was a class act. He made me feel at ease straight away. He’s obviously been here and worked really hard with the previous captain. You can see he’s got the respect of the lads, and he’s certainly got my respect. I look forward to working for him.”

Callum McGregor the standout teammate Joe Hart is joining

Aside from exit-linked Odsonne Edouard, Celtic captain Callum McGregor is the standout individual in the club’s squad right now.

It’s been a difficult start already this season for the Scottish giants, but the 28-year-old midfielder is the one man who looks up for the right.

He’s effortlessly taken the armband from iconic club captain Scott Brown, so deserves immense plaudits for that.

Hart will be looking to similarly establish himself as one of the first names in the Celtic XI. He can become a key figure in Glasgow if he gets off to a strong start because any early errors will see the pressure cranked up on him.
