Alfredo Morelos and Odsonne Edouard enjoyed contrasting fortunes at Ibrox on Sunday.
The Colombian held the ball up well as Rangers secured a 2-0 victory in the Scottish Cup fourth round, while Edouard turned in one of his worst performances in a Celtic jersey.
Celtic’s biggest goal threat missed one glaring opportunity when it seemed easier to score, before going on to have a tame penalty saved by Allan McGregor.
The vast majority of Celtic fans who took part in an online poll following the game said they want to see the back of Edouard, while Morelos remains a fans’ favourite at Ibrox.
John Collins, however, insists Edouard still has the edge over Morelos and says the Frenchman is one of three Celtic players who would make it into his combined XI.
Speaking on BBC Sportsound, the former Celtic midfielder said: “My eleven at this moment in time, after the poor season Celtic have had, (Callum) McGregor would always be in it.
“I think Edouard is a better player than Morelos and I think (Kris) Ajer would be in it.
MORE CELTIC STORIES
“So three. Of course, (Ryan) Christie has had a poor season but I think he is a terrific football player.
“Rangers have been a better team – a more consistent team week in, week out.
“The nucleus of their team has been selected while Celtic have chopped and changed.
“I just think they don’t have natural wide players who are comfortable in hugging the touchline which has been their biggest problem of the season.”
24-year-old Edouard is widely expected to leave Celtic at the end of the season, with the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham, Leicester City and Real Madrid having been credited with an interest at various points.
