‘It’s all a bit hysterical’… Mark Wilson cannot believe the reaction to what’s happened at Celtic recently

As usual, whenever Celtic drops points in the Scottish Premiership, the scattergun comes out as pundits and fans take aim at the club.

TBR Celtic told this morning how Hugh Keevins claimed that Brendan Rodgers would walk away at the end of the season should he fail to win the league. That was truly bizarre.

We also told how Michael Stewart said that Celtic look a lot more vulnerable as some of their best players remain out injured. To a certain extent, that is true.

However, listening to radio phone in’s directly after the match, some fans were going ballistic and Mark Wilson found the pundit’s reaction to the draw and that of the Celtic support was way over the top.

Wilson said [Clyde SSB], “Brendan Rodgers tried to change things. I’m not sure I agree that he didn’t change anything. He did. He tried to change personnel.

“Look, it’s all a bit hysterical. Celtic drew 1-1 here. They’ve not lost this season. Games like this happen.

“Look back over the last 10 years, 11 years, these things happen. You don’t just go and steamroller teams.”

Like Wilson, I find the whole circus surrounding Celtic’s draw completely strange. Celtic are still unbeaten in the league.

If Rangers had won at Aberdeen, they would have still had a six-point lead at the top of the table. Brendan Rodgers has also been to every tough away ground in Scotland and won.

Rangers’ first test was at Pittodrie and they failed. They still need to go to the likes of Easter Road and Tynecastle this month.

Yes, the football under Rodgers has been patchy but injuries to first-team players like Liel Abada, Reo Hatate and Daizen Maeda have not helped.

People just need to take a big breath and calm down. There is plenty of football left to be played and Celtic still have the chance of taking more points off Rangers when the Ibrox club come visiting at the end of the year.

In other news, £12m player is being considered for a January move by Celtic
