Seven key passes, 10/10… 23-year-old Celtic player was simply brilliant vs Aberdeen

Celtic’s 6-0 rout of Aberdeen has got to be the performance of the season. Hands down. I know I’ve said it before but it was pretty sensational.

The whole team was excellent apart from Joe Hart. The big goalkeeper had nothing to do and could have been sitting in the Parkhead stands for all Celtic were concerned such was the team’s domination over the Pittodrie side.

Every single player that took to the pitch yesterday afternoon was brilliant. To a man, they all looked to show Brendan Rodgers that his pre-match pep talk worked and, my goodness, didn’t it just.

But there was one player who was brilliant on the day. One player that was a cut above the rest and it is little wonder the Celtic fans absolutely love him.

Luis Palma was simply sensational for Celtic vs Aberdeen

The Honduran has been ‘tearing up‘ the Scottish Premiership ever since he arrived at the club this summer.

He has now scored five goals and created five assists this season and it is little wonder Matt O’Riley has said he expects the Celtic winger to keep on getting ‘better and better’.

But yesterday, his performance was simply flawless. According to the football ratings site, SofaScore, Palma was rated a 10/10 for his Aberdeen display.

Over the course of the match, Palma has 86 touches with a passing success rate of 78%. The 23-year-old made an incredible seven key passes, created three assists and even got on the scoresheet himself.

The £3.5m signing from Aris also attempted 13 crosses as he terrorised the Aberdeen defence and completed 100% of his long balls.

On top of that, Palma chipped in with his defensive duties as he attempted 12 ground duels of which he was successful in four and he also made one interception.

This performance follows up from his impressive display against Ross County last week when he got on the scoresheet again in the 3-0 win over The Staggies.

It is little wonder his Honduran teammate, Andy Najar, is tipping Palma for a big move from Celtic sooner than the fans would like.
