Liverpool have been linked with Napoli’s Hirving Lozano in recent days.
Earlier this month, The Mirror reported that the Reds are eyeing a move for the 27-year-old next summer.
However, Fabrizio Romano has now spoken about Premier League interest in a player who has been compared to Lozano.
What does this have to do with Liverpool? Well, the player in question has previously said that joining the Reds would be his “biggest dream”.
Celtic winger Liel Abada has been superb for the Hoops since joining 18 months ago.
This has led to speculation linking the 21-year-old with a Premier League move.
Here is what Romano wrote on Twitter about Abada:

In terms of Premier League names, Southampton are apparently hoping to bring Abada to St Mary’s.
However, as per the Daily Record, Celtic will reportedly hold talks over improved terms in the coming weeks.
So Liverpool – or any other suitors – would need to act fast.
That said, the Reds do have an edge, in that they’re Abada’s dream club.
In 2021, he told Sport5 in Israel that his “biggest dream” is to eventually sign for Liverpool one day.
Now, we’ll look at the Lozano comparisons. This is according to Football Talent Scout, who posted a factfile on the player on Twitter last year.
In terms of price tag, there haven’t been any ballpark figures reported in the press.
However, Maccabi Petah Tikva chairman Avi Luzon speculated in summer (via the Daily Record) that Abada is worth about £18million.
Should Liverpool swoop for Abada in January?
While Abada is a very exciting talent, Liverpool should (and probably will) hold off for the time being.
The Reds brought their Luis Diaz move forward last year, but he was proven at the highest level and also had Tottenham after him.
Liverpool will likely want to give Abada more time to develop, either at Celtic or elsewhere, before deciding whether to make a move.
He’s certainly got the potential, but we’d think Liverpool would want to see how he fares in the Premier League first before spending £18m plus.
Even if his price tag were to skyrocket in a few years’ time, it would do so on the back of proven performances in the English top flight.
