‘Really dangerous’… Kolo Toure blown away by £55.5m Manchester City player vs Liverpool

Kolo Toure gave his verdict on Manchester City winger Jeremy Doku while watching him in action against Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.

The former Arsenal, Liverpool and City defender was impressed with Doku.

So, what did Kolo Toure say about Jeremy Doku? Let’s take a look.

What’s the story?

Well, Manchester City played out a 1-1 draw with Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Erling Haaland scored for City in the first half. Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson really should have done better with his initial kick.

Trent Alexander-Arnold found the back of the net for Jurgen Klopp’s side in the second half.

Jeremy Doku started for City. The Belgium international winger has hit the ground running at the Etihad Stadium since his move in the summer of 2023 and has established himself as an important player in manager Pep Guardiola’s side.

Former Liverpool and City defender Kolo Toure has noted just how Doku was creating problems for the Merseysider club.

Toure said about Doku on Premier League Productions at half time: “He’s a player who is really dangerous. They always need to keep their discipline, making sure they double up on him to stop him coming inside or going out.”

Manchester City winger Jeremy Doku was impressive vs Liverpool

In my opinion, Manchester City winger Jeremy Doku was one of the best players on the pitch at the Etihad Stadium.

I believe Doku made it hard for Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold. True, the England international scored for the Reds, but defensively he struggled against the Belgium international winger.

Doku, who was linked with Liverpool before he moved to City for £55.5 million (Sky Sports), was a problem for the Reds defence with his pace, dribbles, and direct running.

Against Liverpool on Saturday, Doku took two shots which were not on target, played four key passes, had a pass accuracy of 89.4%, took 89 touches, attempted 11 dribbles, made four tackles and one clearance and put in three crosses.
