Ruben Dias lauds Manchester City teammate Phil Foden

Manchester City defender, Ruben Dias, has said that Phil Foden’s attitude impresses him so much and says it’s impossible for Foden not to be successful.

Foden has been in superb form this season for City and he has, at times, kept Raheem Sterling out of the picture at club level. An England place is almost a certainty too for Foden this summer, with many calling for Gareth Southgate to build the team around him.

And Dias, who only arrived in the summer for huge money himself, has been taken about by just how good Foden is.

“He is a special talent. As you know, as everybody knows, you can see it, he breathes football. On top of it all, for me, I would say one of the most fantastic attributes he has is the way he is”, Dias told City’s official website.

“He is always driven and you never see him going down like ‘this isn’t going well for me’ or ‘I have this problem or that problem. He knows very well what he is going for and when you have a player with this quality and with this mindset, it is very difficult not be successful.”

City face Spurs in the Carabao Cup final tomorrow knowing nothing but a victory will do. Their hopes of a historic quadruple were ended a few weeks back by Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea, but they could still win three trophies.

Foden, as well as Dias, will be hoping to get the nod again tomorrow and lead the Citizens to another piece of silverware at Wembley.

TBR View: Foden is exceptional, Dias is right to be impressed

If England don’t start Foden in the summer, then it will be a bit of a travesty. Especially with Jack Grealish out injured, there is a wide open space for Foden to exploit as things stand.

Dias himself has been hugely impressive. So for him to compliment Foden like he has shows just how good the City youngster is. Worryingly for everyone else, he’ll only go on and get better.
