‘Absolute shambles’: Jamie O’Hara reacts after seeing what Arsenal have done now following Newcastle defeat

Jamie O’Hara has labelled Arsenal’s reaction to the defeat at Newcastle United on Saturday as an ‘absolute shambles’.

The former Tottenham midfielder has been speaking to talkSPORT and slammed Arsenal over their reaction to Anthony Gordon’s winner at St James’ Park.

Mikel Arteta made his feelings on Gordon’s goal clear after the game as he labelled the decision ‘embarrassing’ and a ‘disgrace’.

Gordon’s goal has caused controversy as the decision to award it has divided opinion.

It ultimately handed Newcastle all three points on Saturday and Arsenal released a statement backing Arteta after his post-match rant.

Now, Jamie O’Hara has weighed in on the debate and has told Arsenal to ‘stop crying’ about the VAR’s decision.

Speaking on talkSPORT on Monday morning, O’Hara believes the officials came to the correct decision on Saturday.

“Absolute shambles from them,” the pundit said. “Always moaning, complaining, get on with the game, if you are good enough, you’ll win it.

“They have had a great record at St. James’ Park, the ball wasn’t out, it wasn’t a foul and it was bad defending.

“Stop moaning, stop crying about VAR, get on with the game and beat them.”

The VAR checked three different incidents before awarding Gordon’s goal on Saturday.

It was determined there was no conclusive evidence to rule Gordon offside or to decide the ball had gone out of play in the build-up.

Yet, the challenge on Gabriel Magalhaes by Joelinton was also reviewed and the Magpies midfielder did appear to push Gabriel in the back.

Nevertheless, Arsenal simply weren’t good enough on the day and while they may have reason to feel aggrieved, the loss came down to more than just a VAR decision.

The Gunners have now suffered back-to-back defeats over the past week after also losing 3-1 at West Ham.
