Jamie O’Hara now shares what he thinks needs to happen for Tottenham to win the Premier League

Jamie O’Hara has shared what he thinks needs to happen for him to believe Tottenham Hotspur can win the Premier League.

The former Spurs midfielder has been speaking on talkSPORT (31/10 8:57am) and discussed Ange Postecoglou’s chances of delivering a title in his debut season.

Tottenham have surprised many so far this season as they currently sit top of the Premier League table.

Their most recent 2-1 win at Crystal Palace means they’ll head into this weekend’s fixtures two points clear of Arsenal and Manchester City.

Many expected Spurs to struggle after losing their star man Harry Kane to Bayern Munich over the summer.

But after such a promising start to life under Postecoglou, pundits are now questioning Tottenham’s title credentials.

And Jamie O’Hara believes if Spurs can get through their upcoming games against Chelsea and Manchester City while remaining top of the pile, he’ll start to believe it’s possible.

O’Hara on what needs to happen for Tottenham to win the Premier League

Speaking on talkSPORT, O’Hara shared what he thinks needs to happen before he believes Tottenham can win the title this season.

“I’m optimistic lads, to be honest, I think it’s going to be a really good season,” the pundit said. “Everyone’s saying that we’re going to fall away or crumble.

“Look, are we going to win the league? No. I mean look you’ve got Man City, you’ve got Liverpool, they’re like machines.

“Arsenal, they’re churning out results, they’re pumping sides. We’ve got some tough fixtures coming up, we’ve got Chelsea coming up, I think we’ve got to play Manchester City soon, this month’s a massive month.

“If we stay in there and we’re top after this month lads, I’ll start saying we’re going to win the league.

“I’m going to try and hold back, but it’s just exciting, we’ve got our Tottenham back and that’s what we’ve wanted for a long time.”

The fact that Tottenham are even in the conversation as possible title contenders is nothing short of remarkable when you consider the mess Postecoglou inherited over the summer.

The Aussie boss lost his star man Kane and took over after Tottenham’s worst finish in the Premier League in 10 years.

Of course, it’s still very much early days and Spurs could struggle to maintain their brilliant form over the course of the season.

But the early signs are encouraging and if they continue to rack up points, the optimism around them will only grow.
