Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has described Reds attacking teammate Cody Gakpo as a “fantastic guy”.
The Liverpool forward explained to the Reds media team how he has to adapt to whoever plays alongside him in the front line.
Gakpo has featured in a variety of positions for Liverpool this season. He has turned out as a central midfielder, a centre-forward, and a left winger.
The 24-year-old has also featured as a No. 10 for the Netherlands. Needless to say, he’s as versatile as he is talented.
Salah, speaking to the Liverpool media team, said Gakpo is great as a centre-forward.
“When Cody plays in that position (centre-forward) he’s a fantastic guy,” he said. “If you understand their game, your game is going to be easier.
“So I’m trying always to understand the other players’ games, so I know where I could be in that position with this player and with other players it’s different.

“Kostas and Robbo [are] completely different, Darwin and Cody are also different. So I have to adapt with the players who are going to play and who’s where.”
Gakpo has been a great acquisition for Liverpool, who beat the likes of Manchester United to the £35million man’s signature late last year. He’s versatile and has plenty of quality traits.
When playing up top, he’s very much like Roberto Firmino.
Gakpo, like the Brazilian, is a great finisher and has done well when playing deep, providing a link between the likes of Salah and Luiz Diaz and the forward line.
With Klopp having Gakpo and also Nunez, he has two great options which should cover all bases when it comes to whichever type of opponent they’re up against.
