Tottenham Hotspur keeping close eye on Everton player Jurgen Klopp said is ‘really good’

Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite.

That is according to talkSPORT, which has noted a potential hurdle that Tottenham could face in their quest to bring Branthwaite to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

So, what has been reported about Tottenham Hotspur and Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite? Let’s take a look.

Tottenham Hotspur want to sign Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite

Well, according to talkSPORT, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Jarrad Branthwaite from Everton.

The report has noted that Spurs are “keeping a close eye on the 21-year-old centre-back”.

However, there is a potential hurdle for Tottenham. According to talkSPORT, Manchester United and Newcastle United are also keen on the youngster, who is “a really good left-footed centre-half”, according to Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp in News & Star in October 2023.

The report has added that although Everton have tied Branthwaite down to a new contract, the Merseyside club are aware that they would have to eventually sell the English defender because of their financial issues. The Toffees are also facing a fight for survival in their Premier League this season.

Jarrad Branthwaite would be a good signing for Spurs

In my view, Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite would be a good signing for Tottenham Hotspur. I do not think that Spurs will be able to sign the youngster in the January transfer window, but the North London club could be able to get a deal done in the summer of 2023.

Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven are the two main centre-backs at Tottenham at the moment, but there is always room for more. I believe that Branthwaite would give Spurs head coach Ange Postecoglou a very good option at the back.

Branthwaite has made 11 appearances in the Premier League for Everton this season. The defender has played twice in the Carabao Cup this campaign.
