Many Liverpool fans aren’t buying reports on Ederson

Many Liverpool fans are refusing to believe reports Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson could be ruled out of this weekend’s huge Premier League clash.

The goalkeeper was substituted off at half-time against Atalanta in the Champions League to be replaced by Claudio Bravo.

Guardiola confirmed (Sky Sports) after the game that it is a ‘muscular problem’, and that he doesn’t know yet if the Brazilian will be fit.

The Evening Standard report that while Ederson was seen limping towards the team bus, the player is hopeful to return for the massive game at Anfield on Sunday.

The £35 million signing from Benfica in 2017 (BBC Sport) is due for a scan on Thursday, which may reveal more about his chances of playing.

The development has obviously concerned many City supporters, but a number of Liverpool fans refused to believe he could potentially be out of Sunday’s contest, with some thinking Guardiola already knows he’ll play.

Liverpool fans react

Many Reds supporters have been rather cynical about Ederson being taken off as a ‘precaution’ at San Siro, and fully expect to see the South American lining up as normal to face their side.

Perhaps the response comes after Manchester United’s David De Gea was recently reported to be an injury doubt against Liverpool, only for the Spaniard to play as normal.
