According to a shock report from TuttoSport, Italian giants Juventus are interested in signing Arsenal star Thomas Partey this summer.

The Gunners signed the Ghanaian from Atletico Madrid in October 2020 after triggering his £45 million release clause (BBC). Partey was viewed by many as the missing piece in Arsenal’s puzzle, but injuries played spoilsport in his first season in the Premier League.

The 28-year-old struggled with niggles earlier this season too, but his form over the last few weeks have been absolutely incredible for Mikel Arteta’s side.

Partey even won the Arsenal Player of the Month award for February and that seems to have caught Juventus’ eye.

Juventus missed out on the Serie A last season and it looks like they’ll fail this time as well. Things simply have to change in Turin and they are planning big moves in the summer to get back to the top.

One area they are really looking to strengthen is central midfield. They are reportedly looking at Lille star Renato Sanches as an option, but Partey’s name is the one that stands out.

The report claims that Juventus are ‘sending signals’ about their desire to sign the Ghanaian in the summer. It has even been claimed that they can sign him for £33.5 million, which is considerably lower than what Arsenal paid for him just under 18 months ago.

Partey’s current contract at Arsenal runs till the summer of 2025.

Football is a funny game and nothing really is impossible, but the likelihood of Juventus signing Thomas Partey from Arsenal this summer is as close to zero as it can get.

The Ghanaian, labelled as ‘world class‘ by Kevin Campbell, has finally found his feet at the Emirates.

He has been one of the Gunners’ best players since the start of February and it’s hard to imagine that Arsenal will even consider selling him in the summer transfer window.

There are 13 games left for Arsenal this season and they are in the driving seat to qualify for the Champions League. If they do, Partey will be more important than ever as he’s one of the very few players in Arteta’s squad who has the experience of playing in Europe’s most prestigious competition.
