‘Really impressive’…BBC pundit seriously impressed by Manchester United player v Everton

Manchester United silenced the Everton fans early on today as a stunner from Alejandro Garnacho did the business early on in the game.

Garnacho’s stunner will go down as one of the great Premier League goals and it was a moment that showed just why he’s so highly-rated at Old Trafford.

However, beyond Garnacho, there are other young players coming through as well and one of those, Kobbie Mainoo, has been involved from the start today as well.

Kobbie Mainoo impresses against Everton

Mainoo has lined up in the midfield and amid a tense atmosphere, has performed well. And watching on for the BBC, former Everton man Leon Osman has been seriously impressed by Mainoo.

“I think they’ve been quite comfortable so far Manchester United. I think what they’ve been trying to do tactically has been quiet effective. Kobbie Mainoo has had a really impressive start, the youngster. Really comfortable on the ball, really relaxed in possession despite the atmosphere,” Osman said.

Looks like a star already

With United struggling at times this season with their midfield, there has been a chance for others to emerge and it looks like Mainoo is going to take his.

The 18-year-old has been quite brilliant in that opening 45 minutes and has played with a maturity of a player who has been around for years at this level.

Garnacho might be getting the headlines but Mainoo is more than showing he has the mettle to go on and be a top Premier League player.

Erik ten Hag has shown some big faith in getting Mainoo involved and it looks like it’s paid off for today at least.

If this is a sign of things to come from Mainoo, then Manchester United fans have a lot to look forward to in the future.
