Video: Jack Grealish’s first words with Jarrod Bowen and West Ham coach after he arrives at England camp

Jack Grealish has joked that West Ham United winger Jarrod Bowen nearly ended Manchester City’s title hopes.

Bowen has linked up with the England squad for the very first time ahead of the start of the Nations League campaign this weekend.

Grealish is reporting for duty after celebrating City’s title win, his first Premier League trophy and saw Bowen and West Ham coach Paul Nevin at St George’s Park.

Nevin is part of Gareth Southgate’s coaching team, and Grealish wasted no time in referencing that Bowen put City 2-0 down in their final away game of the season earlier this month.

Grealish greets Bowen

England’s official YouTube channel uploaded their player arrivals video, as has become the norm now and picked up what Grealish said to Bowen and Nevin.

With Bowen standing there, Nevin said to Grealish: “Congrats on the title win”.

Grealish responded with a smile on his face, saying: “Nearly killed us you lot. It was him actually [pointing at Bowen]!”

The Hammers gave City a real scare but Grealish put his side on the comeback trail and they came from 2-0 down again against Aston Villa on the final day of the season to clinch the title.

Declan Rice has also joined the squad and was excited to see his club teammate, saying on arrival: “Need to go see my boy Jarrod, give him a hug.

“Mason (Mount) is gone now!”

This England squad has such a tight bond but seems welcoming to any new players and it seems that Bowen will be right at home in no time.

Some fans may wonder about the importance of the Nations League, but for Bowen, it is a chance to make his first claim to be in the World Cup squad later this year.
