Video: 22-year-old Tottenham player scores great goal in training after superb pass from Djed Spence

Tottenham are hard at work ahead of the Premier League return and some footage has emerged involving Djed Spence and Dejan Kulusevski.

Antonio Conte’s team sit fourth in the Premier League at the break for the World Cup and are striving for a winning formula.

The Italian boss has come under fire for his style of play. Ultimately, he needs time, however, to implement his system at its maximum potential.

Kulusevski will be a big player to have back in the squad. He spent some of the first half of 2022/23 injured and he was a big loss.

As for Spence, he might be forgiven for regretting his decision to sign for Tottenham. He’s yet to start a game for Spurs and is viewed as one for the future.

The training footage is a piece of content that fans seem to enjoy in the modern era. Tottenham are renowned for sharing their sessions and yesterday, it showcased some good play.

After a pass was played to Spence during a practice match, he oped his body and played a defence-splitting pass through to Kulusevski.

The Swedish attacker finished in an emphatic fashion and left the goalkeeper with no chance. Although it was a goal in training, it was still immensely pleasing to the eye.

Conte’s style has been labelled dull and predictable by some of his critics. The challenge has to be to replicate some of this play more frequently in game situations.

It would be a nice start for the manager to start Spence. He was brilliant for Nottingham Forest on loan last season and he looks tailor-made for a Conte system.

His pass through to Kulusevski was a joy to behold. That sort of forward-thinking play hasn’t been heard of at Tottenham this season and fans would welcome his inclusion.

As for Kulusevski, he will surely be a regular pretty quickly after football resumes following the World Cup.

The 22-year-old has scored once and claimed five assists from 12 outings this season which isn’t a bad return considering his injury problems.

Last season, he proved to be a brilliant signing after arriving in January. He scored five times and claimed eight assists as Tottenham qualified for the Champions League.

This season, ambitions are lofty once more. If Tottenham have any chance of a return to the elite European competition, they need Kulusevski fit and firing – just like he has been doing in training.
