Arsenal are in dreamland right now.
The Gunners are top of the Premier League, and they’ve just won 6-0 in the Champions League to secure top-spot in their group.
Mikel Arteta seems to have found the magic formula, and after a stop-start opening to the campaign, the Gunners are finally clicking.
Speaking on The Breakdown Live, Adrian Clarke has been discussing Arsenal’s recent improvements, and he says that one player who has really stepped up in recent weeks is Oleksandr Zinchenko, claiming that the Ukrainian is now, once again, looking like one of Arsenal’s best players.
Zinchenko has improved
Clarke shared his verdict on the £35m man.
“There wasn’t too much between Zinchenko and Tomiyasu at one point, but then of course Ben White misses a game and Tomi goes back to his normal position and what’s happened is that Zinchenko has really raised his level, I think his last two or three performances have been brilliant, he’s been one of our best players,” Clarke said.
Much better
Zinchenko had a bit of a slow start to the season after struggling towards the end of last term, but now, he’s really back into his stride.
When he’s at his best, Zinchenko is an absolute joy to watch, and he’s really in his groove at this moment in time.
Zinchenko did have some cobwebs to shift after last season’s struggles towards the end of the campaign, but now, he’s back to his best and he’s proving just how important he is to this Arsenal side right now.
With Takehiro Tomiyasu doing so well on the opposite side, Ben White may well find it difficult to get back into this team.
Mikel Arteta’s side are looking every bit title challengers at the moment, and it’s exciting to ponder just how far this side can go.
