Mykhaylo Mudryk compares £150,000-a-week Arsenal player to Zinedine Zidane

Chelsea star Mykhaylo Mudryk has compared Arsenal’s Oleksandr Zinchenko to the great Zinedine Zidane on Instagram.

The two Ukrainians are huge stars for their country, but neither have set the Premier League on fire this season. Mudryk has looked much better than last term, but Zinchenko is struggling at Arsenal. However, the two compatriots always support each other on social media.

Mykhaylo Mudryk compares Arsenal’s Oleksandr Zinchenko to Zinedine Zidane

Arsenal star Oleksandr Zinchenko came on as a substitute at half-time against Sevilla in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

The Ukraine international replaced Takehiro Tomiyasu after he suffered a minor injury.

Zinchenko had a good game after coming on. He got on the ball well and controlled the play against a Sevilla side who turned up to the Emirates just for the sake of it.

At one point in the second half, Zinchenko hit a brilliant volley from the edge of the box, but his effort was saved by Sevilla goalkeeper Marko Dmitrovic.

A picture of Zinchenko striking the ball, in a way, resembles Zinedine Zidane‘s iconic Champions League final goal against Bayer Leverkusen back in 2002.

After Zinchenko posted a picture of himself volleying the ball, Mudryk commented, ‘Zizou?’, comparing him to the France and Real Madrid legend.

Tomiyasu has taken Zinchenko’s place at Arsenal

Oleksandr Zinchenko was one of Arsenal’s best players last season, but he just hasn’t been at his usual level since the start of this campaign.

The Ukraine international has lost his place in the side to Takehiro Tomiyasu, with the Japan international starting each of Arsenal’s last two games.

Tomiyasu has been in great form for Arsenal over the last few weeks. He is extremely comfortable on the ball, is good with both feet and is a much better defender than Zinchenko.

If the £150,000-a-week (Spotrac) Ukrainian wants to get back into the side, he will have to step up when he gets a chance in the coming games.
